About Us

"God is the source of all sustenance."

MEANING OF SAMAD

The name Samad comes from the Arabic As-Samad — one of the 99 names of Allah (God), meaning The Self-Sufficient, The Eternal, The One upon whom all things depend.

It is a name that carries weight and intention. Our brand is built on the belief that true sufficiency — in health, in livelihood, in community — comes from reconnecting with God, the natural world that He has provided.
Every cup of Samad tea is an act of reclaiming that relationship, reconnecting with Creator and the oneness of all beings and the natural world.

Our Quality Difference

Our herbs are grown in Bloomfield, Connecticut — cultivated with care, harvested at peak potency, and processed entirely by hand. No chemical fertilizers. No pesticides.

Peak Harvest

We grow our herbs to full maturity before harvesting, preserving the highest concentration of medicinal compounds.

OUR GROWING PRACTICES

Precision Drying

Herbs are dehydrated at calibrated temperatures to retain color, flavor, and active botanical properties — never over-dried.

Hand-Garbled

Whole Herb

The result is a visually vibrant, richly aromatic looseleaf tea that you can see, smell, and feel the difference from your typical bulk herb sellers and “organic” grocery store herbs. All this means more potent and effective medicine with every sip.

We hand-garble every batch: sifting through screens to remove stalks and create a refined, uniform particle size. The opposite of industrial milling, which degrades some of the volatile and aromatic compounds.

Our Mission & Values

We believe local agriculture is the most important base of community power, and that self-sufficiency is an act of justice.

"Every purchase of our teas directly supports this mission: growing our farm, expanding our farmer network, and building an ecosystem of independent, community-rooted food and medicine production that we all deserve."

We are not just selling tea. We are building a movement, one that connects people back to the God, land, back to each other, and back to the healing that has always been available to us.

  • The healing power of whole herbs in their purest, most vibrant form

  • Local agriculture as a foundation of community health and self-sufficiency

  • Supporting Black, Muslim, and minority farmers, entrepreneurs, and businesses

  • Empowering our customers to take ownership of their health and well-being

  • Demonstrating that elegance, quality, and luxury can be grown from the earth

  • Building cooperative economics and conscious commerce
